Volunteering with
The Pearl Protectors

The Pearl Protectors prioritizes promoting volunteerism in Sri Lanka through engaging passionate individuals in accomplishing the goal of protecting our marine environment. According to the World Giving Index 2019, Sri Lanka has been ranked #1 globally with the highest percentage of the population volunteers.

Volunteerism has been entwined with Sri Lankan history, culture and values. To further strengthen this, we provide modern resources, incentives and recognition to inspire volunteerism.

Protector of the Pearl Volunteer

A registered volunteer of The Pearl Protectors uniquely caters towards protecting the marine environment of Sri Lanka through various avenues such as awareness, research, multimedia, scuba diving, data gathering, coastal cleanups and creative solutions to protect the marine environment.

All registered volunteers will follow a volunteer progress structure while adhering to the ‘Volunteer Code of Conduct’. Volunteer contributions will be recognized and honored.

As of 2023, 1900 volunteers have registered as Protectors of the Pearl Volunteers. As volunteer contributions increase, the individual will rank up to take part in the core decision-making of the organization. All volunteer opportunities are subjected to international volunteer guidelines and are conducted in the highest professional standards.
